I received my training in nursing and advanced practice psychiatric nursing from Columbia University in New York City where I completed both a Bachelors of  Science in Nursing and a Masters of Science in Nursing. I am also a member of the academic honor society, Sigma Theta Tau. After my training I returned home to Seattle.

I have been in practice as a psychiatric nurse practitioner for 20 years. I have a special interest in the full spectrum of anxiety disorders including OCD, Panic Disorder, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. However, my passion is working with people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I also very much enjoy working with ADHD as well.

At Reed College in Portland, Oregon I completed my first undergraduate degree in Political Philosophy. My coursework culminated in a thesis on the work of Walter Benjamin. I am somehow a member of the academic honor society, Phi Beta Kappa.

If you are still reading, what has come before and after  will lead the reader to think that I have done nothing but go to school and get certified endlessly. In fact, I have worked a variety of jobs to save money to travel extensively in Southeast Asia, India, Europe, and Scandinavia. These experiences inform my work with patients in a way as profoundly as my training did.

I am nationally board certified as an Advance Practice Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. I am a member of the Association of Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurses of Washington State,  ARNPs United of Washington State, the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association.  I am also Past President and founder of the nonprofit,  Archway Psychiatric Center.
